The Basin is a popular swimming location on Rottnest Island, Western Australia. It is located at 31°59′21″S 115°32′9″E, in the northwest of the island, between Pinky Beach and Longreach Bay.

According to the website of Tourism Western Australia, it has been awarded "Australia's Top Beach". John T. McMahon once wrote of it: I challenge the world to produce a better swimming place than the Basin. Nature has been eloquent here. Two jagged headlines guard the cove whose slopes are covered with white sand. Climb up the hill that separates us from Longreach Bay, and look down upon the unbelievable shades of green water in the Basin, curving around the reefs to meander in and out until it reaches a sandy beach, a delightful swim, an objective for the before-breakfast plunge...
