Vicus Caprarius

Local nameLa Città dell'Acqua
LocationTrevi, Rome, Italy

Also called the Vicus Caprarius, this large archeological site offers a unique opportunity to take a look at the everyday lives of the ancient Romans.

On the site, you will find what remains of an aquaduct that supplied water to the nearby Trevi Fountain. That is not all, however. The archeologists have also managed to recover an excellently-preserved Roman mansion from the 4th century here.

Although both finds were only unearthed relatively recently, they are now both fully open to the public.
