Zion National Park

Local nameZion National Park
LocationUtah, USA

One of the most visited national parks in the United States, this huge area covers 593 square kilometres (229 square miles) of land and it's a home for many different species of animals and plants.

The park was proclaimed in 1919. The location was not often visited due to its unfavourable position and no roads, but today, this situation is way different.

There are endless possibilities how to enjoy this beautiful park. You can backpack, hike, cycle, go kayaking or climbing. The relief is so diverse that there is something for everyone who loves being outside.

Some of the species of animals that live here are lizards, deer, turkeys, coyotes, frogs, gray foxes, ring-tailed cats and many more. This place is also rich in its flora, which consists of various kinds of junipers, coniferous trees, yuccas, mosses and similar. Zion is known for its "hanging gardens", which are small areas with wildflowers and other growth that flourishes from a spring and spreads over it, giving off the illusion they are hanging.

To prevent catching an animal-transmitted disease, please refrain from touching or feeding any wildlife in this park.
