Casa Vicens

Local nameCasa Vicens
Locationla Vila de Gràcia, Barcelona, Spain

One of the modernist buildings designed by Gaudí. The residence was constructed between 1883 and 1889 for Manel Vicens i Montaner and later it was renovated and enlargened by his friend, Joan Baptista Serra de Martínez.

The facade of this building is an example of how Gaudí played with mixing various architectural styles, e.g. Moorish and Oriental. The architectural gem was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

After a recent renovation, the museum and its adjacent garden have opened its doors to visitors. You may choose to explore this gem on your own or take a guided tour.
