Also known as J-Town, this cultural district is home to many speciality shops, stores, and restaurants. It is also considered to be the largest ethnic district in San Francisco. If you like Japanese cuisine, this is surely a place not to miss. Two major festivals take place in the neighbourhood: Cherry Blossom Festival and Nihonmachi Street Fair. There are also other cultural and food events throughout the year.
Even if you are not after Japanese food, the area has a lot to offer. There are numerous museums, cultural centres and entertainment venues that will introduce you to Japanese culture, art and customs.
