Old Castle Stairs

Local nameStaré zámecké schody
LocationMalá Strana, Prague, Czechia

Follow these 121 steps and enjoy the spectacular view of Prague and the Fürstenberg Garden. The stairs, which date back to the 17th century, geographically separate Hradčany from the Lesser Town. Nowadays, they have become quite popular as the most frequent and scenic way up to Prague Castle.

The atmosphere of this place is so overwhelmingly romantic that it even inspired some Czech authors to write songs about it. While going up the stairs, be sure to notice the statue of Karel Hašler, a famous Czech songwriter.

Keep in mind though, that the stairs are relatively steep.
