The Old Town district represents the heart of Prague and it is its oldest area with all the important sights. Take a walk around Old Town Square and see for yourself. Some of the sights worth mentioning include for example the Powder Gate, the Municipal House and Celetná Street.
Even though the first mention of this square dates back to 1091, its name is a bit younger. It was named Old Town in the 14th century, when the New Town was founded.
Old Town is only a short walk from other interesting parts of the city. Just cross the Charles Bridge and explore the Lesser Town neighbourhood.
