Secret Lagoon

Local nameGamla Laugin
LocationSuðurland, Iceland

Visit the hot springs surrounded by the untouched nature and enjoy a small geyser erupting every 5 seconds. This secret lagoon was created in 1891, thus, it is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. The water temperature is between 38-40 degrees all year round. If visiting during the winter, you may be lucky and see the northern lights.

This lagoon located near Flúðir is less known and less visited than the famous Blue Lagoon, which makes it a peaceful place to visit. The surroundings of the lagoon are well facilitated - offering showers, bar and an eating area. Though food is not served daily, you can buy snacks here.
